Okay, so that was what I told a girlfriend earlier today. Here's the story - I've been dating this guy for a couple of months and let's just say, he's as wonderful as can be while I remained difficult. I couldn't help it, I don't even know why I acted up so much and wasn't very nice at times. Needless to say, I regret it more than anything. But now, it's too late and he's probably had a change of heart.
Initially, I became upset. I wish I could turn back time and be ever-so-wonderful myself. As this thought consumed me - what if I did this, I shouldn't have done that, I wish I was different, etc. - I realized something. He's small potatoes. That's what the girls would say in the movie Shag (starring Phoebe Cates and Bridget Fonda). It's what you tell your girlfriend who's worrying about some guy.

I began to come up with reasons why he is, in fact, small potatoes. That way, when you tell your gal pal the same thing (or yourself), she (or you) will believe you at an instant and won't doubt you for a second.
Reason not to worry #1
Why are you worrying? Odds are he isn't. The thing is, you're not helping the situation by worrying. What's done is done, and there's nothing left for you to do. Upset that you made a mistake? Then apologize or say your peace and hope it changes things for the better. If it doesn't, just let it go.
Reason not to worry #2
You should really only worry about yourself. I know, I know - that sounds incredibly selfish, but you should be your first priority when it comes to relationships. Once you take care of yourself, the love should follow.
Reason not to worry #3
None of the stuff you're worrying about should change you. Remember who you are underneath all of this. If you're still healthy, great you, then that's all that matters.
Reason not to worry #4
Some say God only created man to create more women. Now I don't know how true this is - after all, I am not God - but I do believe that since we are the gender who bares babies, that should entitle us to something. Men, you are one-upped! Why worry about the weaker sex? (Sorry, boys!)
Reason not to worry #5
No matter what you or he did, or what you regret doing or not doing, no man is worth your sanity. The minute you get all twisty about some fellow, remind yourself, there are plenty more out there. So what's one? Just move on to the next.
